Upon entering The Inferno, Azzy finds Dr. Lila's lab and trips her security system after stepping inside of it. Ariatto appears, claiming to have been watching her journey through cameras throughout the Underground. After questioning Azzy's trustworthiness and motives, Dr. Lila returns to the lab to find Azzy trapped. She disables the security system, scolding Ariatto and apologizing for the trouble he caused. Figuring Azzy's the human she'd heard about, Dr. Lila offers to help her cross The Inferno, along with her phone number.
With The Inferno being made of paths mostly separated by pools of lava, Dr. Lila calls upon one of her creations, Valor Doggy, to assist Azzy. If it's already been killed, Dr. Lila comments on how she'll have to check to see it isn't broken later and Azzy has to traverse the area the long way around. Optionally, Candlelight Inn can be visited on the way to Dojo Ariatto.
Azzy reaches Dojo Ariatto, finding Lucky waiting there. He invites her inside, asking about what it's like on the surface, also revealing that he doesn't remember anything before when Dr. Lila found him after his fall. After the discussion, Azzy gets a call from Dr. Lila telling her that she can't help in the Unnamed Core Area and beyond, since it's under Royal Guard jurisdiction. Ariatto gets the idea to use the opportunity to test Azzy and see if his suspicions are justified.
