Azzy falls into the underground, on top of Kokoro's grave which was moved from Swampside by the water. Dr. Lila happens to be walking around on a cliff above and unknowingly drops a few papers, but neither characters meet each other officially until The Inferno. Further ahead, the path is blocked by a wall of vines and Puppy pops out from one of them to greet her. Pleasantries are exchanged and a joke is made about Puppy fearing unicorns, a reference to the creature the Annoying Dog of the AU used to be before Nog was made into the role. More banter is exchanged until Puppy points out Azzy's decreased health and attempts to "heal" her, ending with Azzy getting the poisoned status and losing more health.
In all the commotion, Louis sees what's going on and helps Azzy out by whipping Puppy away with his tail and flying up to his garden. He gives her a potion to regain some health, but it's not enough to get rid of the poison, so he asks her to wait while he goes home to make an antidote. Having no other choice, Azzy decides to traverse the maze to get to Louis' House.

Welcome to the Underground (Transcript)
Azzy has to find her way through the maze while managing her health by eating fruits and dealing with the other monsters that live in and/or got lost in the maze as well.
Azzy finally makes it through the maze and it greeted by Louis, who apologizes for taking too long and gives her a potion to heal the poison. There's an optional mini-boss here against Frog Flower for ruining Louis' flowerbed and the first of 2 planned DeadTale-style fights. After getting healed, Louis tells Azzy about the underground, offers her a phone, and allows her to rest there. This is the first time sleep is mandatory to progress the story since it introduces the night concept.
Before Azzy sleeps, Louis asks for help from the other monsters to dig a path up towards the rest of the underground since his house resides on the outskirts of Swampside, the lowest area in the underground. In the morning, he tells her about a friend who used to visit him and suggests that they might be able to help her get home.
